SUGGESTIONS

Before of leaving should be better getting from own home the map of the area you want to visit; by this way you'll avoid of relying on bulgarian maps, wich are almost always written in cirillic types. The climate changes often and unexpectly, so it's better having an umbrella, also a little one, or a windcoat with hood if you don't like getting wet by unwished showers.

It's not necessary having kilos of food goods from your country; in Bulgaria there's everything, also particular food goods (oil , pasta, cheese, etc....). By the way it's a good occasion for trying the tasty bulgarian food !

The same suggestion is good also for the money; in Bulgaria there are money-change offices everywhere, it's not useful leaving from your country with bags full of USA dollars , the risk is to lose a rather great amount of money to due of twice changing. If you have a credit card take care at international codes ; In other places out from Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna everyone will see your credit card as it'd be a thing from the far space .

Can you live without mobile phone? Remeber to activate the international roaming from your Country before of the leaving; Otherwise you can receive callings from abroad, but you'll share the cost, and it'd be an expensive sharing! The only mobile network in Bulgaria is MOBILTEL.
Public phones, usually working by phone cards, seem to be rather cheap for the international callings.

The mobile phone charger work well on several bulgarian electric point , but the electric voltage is 220 Volts and an european size plug is needed (german kind); in particular work electric points such as the two round holes. A special adaptator should be needed if you have a three pin plug, infact each electric point has only 2 holes. In this case you should put off the third pin of the plug by biting it or buy an adaptator from your Country ( dental rate after bites on plug : 1500 USD; electric adaptator rate: 1,5 USD....).

Have you a weak health? Are you afraid to get sick during your travel or having any accidentes? terroristic traps on yourselves? assaultes by bandits? Mmmh, maybe it's d better you stay at home. Jokes a part it's suggested having a nice health assurance before of leaving for the whole duration of the travel; the rate is usually cheap (about 10 USD by EuropeAssistance for example) and you'll avoid more expensive rates in the unlucky case of admission in a hospital.

Don't forget that dishonest ones live everywhere, an example in Bulgaria? Try to be in the Sofia airport area and ask to a taxi driver to bring you in town (a trip of about 10 minutes), him should ask also 15 USD instead of 5 USD; so ALWAYS accord the prices in advance.

And the last but not the least suggestion: have you got the passaport? it's a compulsory document! Don't try to leave happily to Bulgaria with your nice passport inside pocket and on the arrival discovering that....expired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have more dubts, contact the bulgarian embassy on your country; By the following link you'll be redirect on the page that shows the addresses of the embassies of several Country in Bulgaria. EMBASSIES
